Description

Two 1940 articles from the magazine U.S. Camera by John L. Davenport. These articles describe "A method for obtaining technical excellence in prints by controlling negative contrast". The ideas in these articles formed much of the basis of the "Zone System" later developed by Ansel Adams and Fred Archer.
